Mysterious, Spellbinding, Boundless… the Moods of Mt Batur

Climbing Mt Batur for the sunrise is like active meditation. Focused on every footstep, my mind is free of chatter. 100 or so climbs later, it never fails to captivate my senses.

I have lost count of the number of guests that have joined me at 4am to start trekking to the summit.  Each and every person brings their own motivation  – a physical challenge, a hunger for the beautiful outdoors, overcoming fears, or just time to disconnect from daily life.

The mountains talk… the mood changes. No two mornings are the same. A sky filled with a spectacular sunrise or a mysterious whiteout

For the full story of my typical day on the mountain check out the article in Ultimate You Magazine. For now I am going to let the photos do the talking….
